Start Time & Duration

  • Public tours start at 9:00am.
  • The tour takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group and questions along the way.
  • We usually finish between 10:30 and 11:00.
  • The tour starts at Kurplatz and ends at Schwanenplatz.

Meeting Point

The tour starts at the small public pier next to the Music Pavilion on Kurplatz, right by the lake.

Nearby details:

• Search for Kurplatz in your maps app
• The closest bus stop is Luzernerhof (from station bus 6 or 8, 2 stops)
• It’s only a short walk from the bus stop to the meeting point

If you arrive early, you can grab something small before the tour. A Bachmann bakery is located right next to the Luzernerhof bus stop and is a good place to pick up a takeaway coffee, croissant, or chocolate bread to get ready. There’s also a public toilet just behind the bakery.

Please arrive a few minutes before the tour starts so we can begin on time and you can already take some pictures as it’s a fantastic photo spot.

Weather

The tour takes place in all weather conditions, including rain or snow, unless extreme weather conditions make it unsafe. In this case you get a refund.

If rain or snow is expected:

  • bring a rain jacket or small umbrella
  • wear comfortable shoes suitable for wet streets
  • dress appropriately in colder months

Walking Conditions

The route is not completely flat and includes some older parts of the city. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

  • Expect some uphill walking
  • There are stairs in several places
  • Parts of the old town have uneven surfaces with cobble stones and steps

Strollers

The tour can be done with a stroller, but there may be a few moments where the stroller needs to be handled briefly.
